Description
The Crescent Hill residential district of Neo Miami is drastically different from the city's other residential areas. Other residential areas in Neo Miami are dreary places, with no dome in sight- just endless stacks of apartments, the highest ones precariously positioned higher than the building codes would ever allow. Here, two-story houses line the dark streets, lit by passing cars, porch lights and a faint glow on the edges of the sidewalk. Polarized windows line every house on the street, and even walking into the district there's an immediate loss of the busy noises of the city.
This peace and quiet spreads into activities outside of Crescent Hill. Industrial espionage is common here- monitoring equipment throughout the soundproofed houses is seen as a given. Unlocked doors lead to uninvited guests. Overt action is never taken- a silent truce between all the corporations- two neighbors may work for companies locked in a bitter trade war, but here there's an amiable overtone to the limited interactions between two neighbors.
The price to live in Crescent Hill causes only the most senior of management, the most respected employees, to even have a chance to afford to live here. The houses themselves are always well-decorated, with a pale white interior that contrasts the dark exterior.
